Clermont, Fla. – The Millersville University softball team was defeated by both of its opponents on Wednesday at Hancock Park. Slippery Rock scored one run each inning en route to an 11-2 win. The Marauders then took a 12-0 loss to No. 18 Augustana (S.D.).
The Marauders drop to 7-8 on the season while the Vikings improve to 14-4 and Slippery Rock added its fourth win of the season to improve to a 4-8 record.
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
• The Rock jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first and never looked back. In the next inning, Slippery Rock scored five runs and added one more in the third.

Devan Masciulli broke the shutout, doubling to left field and scoring
Allie Janowiak in the bottom of the third. A few batters later,
Faith Willenbrock slapped a single to center field, bringing home Masciulli.
• In the top of fourth inning, Leah Vith of Slippery Rock extended the lead to 10-2 with a two-run home run. The Rock concluded the game with a bases-loaded walk in the top of the fifth, securing the 11-2 triumph.
Battavio contributed a team-high two hits. Masciulli and Willenbrock recorded one RBI each.
• Millersville used three pitchers in the game.
Emma Bevard took the loss, finishing the game with a 4-3 record. Bevard and
Catherine Johnson both allowed four hits, four runs and struck out one batter each.
Paige Harris closed the game in the last two innings, allowing three runs.
GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
• The Vikings' pitcher Ashley Mickshi tossed a no-hitter in the 12-0 win. to the bottom of the fifth. Mickshi struck out three while Millersville drew three walks and one Marauder reached on an error.
• Augustana rattled off five runs in the top of the first including three doubles and a two-run home run. The Vikings offense never let up with another home run in the top of the second to lead 6-0. A six-run top of the fifth pushed the Vikings out of reach.
• On the mound,
Maddie Guinane allowed eight hits on six runs in four innings.
Brianna White began the top of the fifth inning, getting two outs but allowing six runs with five outs with one strikeout. Head coach
Jen Probst gave Battavio her first collegiate appearance on the mound to close the game.

• The 12 runs allowed were the most that Millersville has allowed since giving up 11 to Kutztown in 2017.
• Battavio leads the team with six multi-hit games.

• The Marauders look to end a three-game losing streak on Thursday, March 14 as they go head-to-head against Auburn University at Montgomery at 9 a.m., and Saint Thomas Aquinas at 1:30 p.m.
