Women's tennis wins first match of the spring season, 4-3, against Saint Thomas Aquinas

Box Score Orlando, Fla. - The Millersville University women's tennis team and Saint Thomas Aquinas were tied, 3-3, entering the final singles match. Victoria Hanus then pulled off a 6-3, 6-1 win at flight six singles to clinch the Marauders' first win of the spring season.

Millersville improves to 3-6, while the Spartans fall to 5-10.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
• Before clinching the victory at flight six singles, Hanus teamed up with Kelsey Heckert to win at flight three doubles, 6-4.
• Heckert also won her flight three singles match, 6-2, 6-2.
Katina Jones handily won her flight one singles match, 6-1, 6-2.
Corinne Grohoski and Sophie May won their flight two doubles match, 6-4.
• The Marauders nearly swept doubles, but Jones and Jasmine Morris narrowly lost their flight one doubles match, 7-6 (7-3).
• Morris also lost a hard-fought flight two singles match, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5), while Grohoski's flight five singles match went three sets, but she ultimately lost, 6-3, 5-7, 10-4.

NOTES
• This marks Millersville's first win against Saint Thomas Aquinas in program history. The Marauders had lost the previous two matches by scores of 7-2 and 8-1.

• Millersville looks for back-to-back wins when it faces the University of Mary (N.D.) on Tuesday, March 12 at 11:30 a.m.
