Women's tennis loses first match of spring season, 7-0

Box Score Orlando, Fla. - The Millersville University women's tennis team lost to the University of Charleston in its first match of the spring season on Sunday afternoon, 7-0.

The Marauders fall to 2-6, while the Golden Eagles improve to 7-0.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
Jasmine Morris put up a strong fight at flight two singles, but ultimately lost, 7-5, 6-2.
Corinne Grohoski also played well at flight four singles before losing, 6-2, 6-3.
Lauren Weaver lost a well-fought flight six singles match, 6-3, 6-2.

COACH MATT HELSEL QUOTES
• "It was a tough assignment to play them in our first match down here. They have a good, deep team. We came out flat in doubles and that just doesn't work against a good team."
• "We played better in singles, with several players competing well. I think we can carry that into tomorrow."

NOTES
• Charleston improves to 4-0 all-time against Millersville.
• These two teams last played on March 15, 2018, with the Golden Eagles sweeping the Marauders, 9-0.
