New York, N.Y. – With their last chance to qualify for the PSAC Championships, Millersville University senior Amira Washington and sophomore Eryn Bartlett punched their tickets Saturday at the NYU Invitational held in the Palladium Athletic Center.
Washington made it to the 50-yard freestyle final after recording a 26.10 preliminary time. With a final chance to qualify it to the PSAC Championships, Washington touched the wall in 25.89, the exact time standard in the 50 free.
In her first event of the day, Bartlett punched her ticket to the PSAC Championships with a time of 2:36.07 in the 200-yard breaststroke prelims--0.56 under the conference time standard.
Junior Rylan Tepe swam a 1:05.68 in the 100-yard butterfly prelims, sending herself to the event's finals where she improved by 0.19. Tepe, however, did not hit the time standard to earn a spot at the upcoming PSAC Championships.
The Marauders will send a total of eight swimmers to the PSAC Championships, which starts on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the York Graham Aquatic Center.
