MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The Millersville men's soccer team remains the only unbeaten PSAC team in conference play as they enter the final week of the regular season and welcome East Stroudsburg to Pucillo Field on Wednesday night. ESU is fresh off of a 2-1 overtime loss to Lock Haven University last Saturday, while the Marauders have won three straight games and five of their last six.

Millersville has already clinched a PSAC playoff berth, remaining in first place in the PSAC East standings with a pristine 8-0-2 conference record, remaining one point ahead of West Chester (who has played one more game than the Marauders) and eight points clear of third-place Lock Haven. There are many playoff scenarios but one of them is very clear: a Millersville victory in either of its last two games will secure a PSAC East first-place finish and a first-round bye in the 2019 PSAC Tournament. That scenario would also involve Millersville hosting both the PSAC men's soccer semifinals and championship game.

Wednesday marks the second meeting between the Marauders and Warriors in 2019. The previous match ended in a 1-1 draw after two overtime periods back on Oct. 9.

The Marauders have also been ranked No. 8 in Super Region 1 in the first NCAA regional rankings of the 2019 season.

ABOUT THE MARAUDERS
  • Millersville senior goalkeeper Darian McCauley earned a clean sheet last time out against Shepherd University. It was his fourth shutout of 2019 and gives him 22 in his career, two shy of the program record of 24 set by Matt Langione from 2007-2010.
  • Nine goals have been scored by Millersville freshmen this fall, led by Frank Astarita's four goals (second only to Jacob Gosselin's ten for team-high.) Only eight goals were scored by Marauder freshmen in the 2018 season.
  • Wednesday's match is the final home contest of the regular season. The Marauders travel to Bloomsburg on Nov. 9 and must then prepare for the postseason.

  • The Marauders are 19-44-5 all-time versus the East Stroudsburg Warriors.

  • Trevor Paone opened the scoring in the 31st minute thanks to a through ball from Anton Lysell.
  • A set piece allowed Millersville to equalize in the 57th minute, when Anthony Calamia whipped in the ball to a dangerous area and Jacob Gosselin redirected it into the net to make it 1-1.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
