MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The top two teams in the PSAC East standings face off this Saturday, Oct. 12 at Pucillo Field as No. 6 Millersville hosts No. 21 Bloomsburg. The Marauders are unbeaten in 2019 with an overall record of 10-0 (8-0 in the PSAC) while Bloomsburg is 9-1 overall (7-1 PSAC.) The two teams also boast the two best defenses in the conference, allowing just 3 goals each to opposing teams.

Both squads enter Saturday's match after tough contests on Wednesday. Millersville took down East Stroudsburg 1-0 to break a nine-game losing streak against the Warriors while Bloomsburg defeated No. 8 West Chester 2-0. 

Millersville has outscored opponents 31-3 in 2019. The 31 goals is the highest total in the PSAC. Bloomsburg is the only team to launch more shots (231) than the Marauders (211) in the conference.

This is the first of two meetings in the regular season between the squads. The second is the last regular season game of 2019 on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m.

ABOUT THE MARAUDERS

• The trio of Michelle Belcher (six goals), Kay Liebl (five goals) and Morgan Winchock (four goals) have led the scoring efforts in 2019.
• 13 different Marauder players have scored at least one goal this season. 15 goals have been scored by freshmen this season. Only six were scored by freshmen in all of the 2018 season.
• Millersville has out-shot opponents 211 to 69. The team averages just over 21 shots per game and has earned 62 corner kicks to date, conceding just 31 corners to opponents.
• Liebl is just three points behind record holder Becky Morris on the program's all-time career points list.

LAST YEAR'S MATCH (Millersville 2, Bloomsburg 1 - Sept. 5, 2018)

• The Marauders defeated Bloomsburg for the first time since 2008.
• Talia Grynkewicz scored in the 5th minute to give Millersville the lead and Kay Liebl struck again in the 6th minute to make it 2-0.
• The Huskies got a goal back in the 22nd minute courtesy of Allie Barber but the Millersville defense did not concede again to secure the victory.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

• Lauren Hoelke and Nicole Varono lead the Huskies with five goals scored each.
• Three other players (Natalie Holmes, Maggie McDonald, and Mackenzie Gebhardt) have booted home three goals.
• Bloomsburg is the defending PSAC champion. They finished 2018 with a 17-3-3 overall record and advance all the way to the NCAA Division II Tournament Elite Eight.
