Indianapolis, Ind. - Millersville baseball has qualified for the NCAA Atlantic Regional for the sixth consecutive season, and for the third time since 2011, the Marauders will play host to the tournament. The seven-team regional will be held at Owls Field in West Lawn, Pa., from May 17-21.
Millersville, with a 34-18 record and PSAC Tournament runner-up finish, earned the No. 2 seed and plays Mountain East Conference champion and automatic qualifier Charleston in Thursday's opening round. The tournament includes three games with the championship game set for Monday, May 21. The regional champion advances to the NCAA Division II Championship held in Cary, N.C.
The top seed in the Atlantic Region is PSAC East champ and reigning national champion West Chester (31-15). Millersville has been a top-two regional seed five times since 2011. The No. 3 seed is Mountain East runner-up Shepherd (38-15). The Rams take on sixth-seed and PSAC Tournament champ Seton Hill (31-20) in the first round. The No. 4 seed Bloomsburg (31-18) takes on No. 5 seed and PSAC West champ Mercyhurst (31-18) in the opening round.
Millersville won the NCAA Atlantic Region in 2016, 2011 and 1998 while reaching the championship round in 2014 and 2015. Millersville's streak of six consecutive regional appearances is the second-longest of any team in the region behind Seton Hill's nine.
All-session passes for the tournament are $30 for adults and $15 for students and senior citizens. Daily tickets are also available. All of the games will be live streamed, available here. Game times and brackets will be released Monday.
