36th annual Millersville Metrics set for Saturday

Millersville, Pa. - More than 900 track and field athletes will compete Saturday at the 36th annual Millersville Metrics hosted at Biemesderfer Stadium. Action begins with 10,000-meter run at 9:15 a.m. Throwing events begin with the women's hammer at 9:30 a.m.
The event includes both male and female athletes from all collegiate levels as well as members of area track clubs. It is the only home meet of the season for the Millersville women's team. Millersville and West Chester have split the last four team first-place finishes. Georgian Court won last season's men's team title with 117 points.
Last season, Millersville athletes won three events. Clara Forney took first place in the 100-meter dash while Sunflower Greene won the hammer throw and shot put. Greene set meet records in both events.
Millersville athletes enter this season's meet as the top seed in six events. The list includes: Courtney Ingold (100 and 200-meter dash), Arianna Camel (100-meter hurdles), 4x400-meter relay, Amanda Myers (javelin), and Greene (hammer throw).
