Shippensburg, Pa. - The Millersville women's track and field team closed its regular season competition at Saturday's Paul Kaiser Classic. The day's performances were highlighted by a season-best time from the 4x100-meter relay team, two season-best marks in the long jump and another dominating performance by the Marauders' throwers.
The 4x100 team of Brianna Doherty, Destinee Holloman, Kay Liebl and Emonie Reviere took first place in a 10-team field with a season-best time of 47.95--the fourth-fastest in the PSAC this season. The Marauders' 4x400-meter relay team placed second with a time of 4:04.54.
Just two days removed from a standout performance at the Penn Relays, Greene did not compete in the shot put but won the discus and hammer throw. Her 141-3 in the discus was enough to best a field of 55. Madison Martin's 135-11 landed her in fourth.
Greene won the hammer with a toss of 183-3. She was one of four Marauders in the top seven. Amanda Myers had just set a new PR at the Penn Relays, and she topped it Saturday with a toss of 176-11, improving her NCAA provisional mark. Stephanie Garner placed fourth with a toss of 156-3, and Martin placed seventh with a toss of 150-0. All four Marauders rank in the PSAC's top six.
Also in the sprints, Ssven Marauders competed in the 100-meter dash with Courtney Ingold running the team's best time at 12.43 in the prelims. Ingold, however, did not run in the finals. Ingold was also Millersville's top finisher in the 200-meter dash, taking sixth with a time of 25.75. Forney qualified for the PSAC Championships with a time of 26.00 and placed 10th in the 71-runner field.
Arianna Camel posted a season-best time of 14.65 in the 100-meter hurdles, placing third in the prelims. She matched that time in the finals and placed second. Madie Tropp ran a career-best 15.29 in the prelims and placed sixth in the finals.
Three Marauders finished in the top 10 in the long jump. Doherty recorded a season-best 18-7 3/4 and placed fourth. Kay Liebl hit a PR at 18-5 3/4 and placed sixth. Holloman took 10th with a jump of 17-9 3/4.
In the pole vault, Erin Harman matched her season-best mark of 11-3 3/4 and placed eighth.
