
Track and field competes at SU College Invitational

Shippensburg, Pa. - The Millersville University women's track and field team sent a contingent of athletes to Wednesday's SU College Invitational hosted by Shippensburg. Highlighting the performances were Sunflower Greene's wins in the shot put and hammer throw.
Fresh off a PSAC record and her third consecutive PSAC Field Athlete of the Week Award, Greene won the shot put with a toss of 186-4, besting the runner-up, teammate Amanda Myers, by nearly 17 feet. Myers' 169-8 was a career-best and also the second-best mark in the PSAC this season.
Millersville placed four in the top six in the hammer.Madison Martin hit a PR and finished fifth with a toss of 162-3. That throw moved Martin to fifth in the PSAC. Stephanie Garner posted a 156-11, placing sixth.
Greene won the shot put with a heave of 49-5, out-distancing the runner-up by a full eight feet. Martin placed fourth with a season-best mark of 38-6 3/4. Martin also placed third in the discus with a toss of 133-11.
In the pole vault, Erin Harman placed third and posted a season-best height, clearing 11-3 3/4.
Brianna Doherty took eighth in the long jump with a season-best leap of 18-3 3/4. Destinee Holloman, who finished 10th, recorded a career-best jump of 17-11 1/2. Kay Liebl placed 11th with a career-best jump of 17-10 3/4.
Holloman was also the runner-up in the 100-meter dash, running a PR time of 12.34. Emonie Reviere took fourth and became the third Marauder to qualify for PSACs in the 100. She ran a career-best 12.41. Kay Liebl missed a PSAC qualifying time by just .03, and Doherty missed by just .08.
Aniya Gibbs qualified for the PSAC Championships in the 400-meter dash, posting a time of 59.95, which was good for fifth place.
