
Greene breaks another record at Bison Open

Lewisburg, Pa. - One day after setting a school record in the discus, Sunflower Greene was at it again. The Millersville junior broke her own school and PSAC record in a first-place performance in the hammer throw.
Greene's 193-11 out-distanced her previous best by 2-9 1/2. Sunday's throw moved Greene to the No. 6 ranking in Division II. Behind Greene in the standings were five Division I competitors.
Her teammate, Amanda Myers, placed seventh with a career-best 163-5. Stephanie Garner also hit a PR at 158-4, finishing 13th out of 44 throwers.
In the shot put, Greene placed second with a heave of 49-10. Greene was the top collegiate placer.
On the track, the Marauders' 4x100-meter relay team placed seventh overall and second among Division II teams, posting a season-best time of 49.09.
Freshman Lenaiya Flowers ran a career-best 59.17 in the 400-meter dash , placing 12th out of 49 entries.
In the 100-meter dash, Courtney Ingold ran a 12.40 to place fifth. Freshman Destinee Holloman ran a PSAC-qualifying time of 12.62 and placed 13th. Ingold also turned in a seventh-place finish in the 200-meter dash, posting a time of 25.67.
Sunday marked the start of a busy two weeks for the Marauders. They travel to Shippensburg on Wednesday then compete at the East Stroudsburg All-American Invitational Saturday. Several Marauders will compete in the Penn Relays on April 26 before the regular season closes at the Paul Kaiser Classic on April 28.
