Millersville, Pa. -- No. 20 Millersville dropped it's second-straight conference game as the Bloomsburg Huskies earned the 16-13 upset victory, Sunday afternoon.
Following freshman
Genevieve Speights'Â goal to give Millersville a 7-5 lead with 5:45 remaining in the first half, the Huskies stole the lead from the Marauders with an offensive flurry to close the first half and open the second half. Bloomsburg scored five unanswered goals in a span of about five in-game minutes and took a 10-7 lead. With a three-goal lead, Bloomsburg continued to apply pressure and answered every Millersville goal that cut into the lead.Â
Bloomsburg earned its largest lead of the game after Hanna Jaskuta scored a free-position goal with 5:39 remaining in the game. Head Coach
Mia Hall called her final timeout to rally her team that was down 16-11.
The Marauders won the subsequent draw control and raced up the field. Senior
Kristen Butzner set up Speights for the quick strike that cut down the lead with only 16-seconds ticked off the clock. Bloomsburg won the next draw control and earned a free-position shot. Redshirt junior

Sarah Leverentz scored her third goal of the game to cut the Huskies' lead to 16-13.
Freshman
Gillian Zimmerman had a good look at the goal that forced the Bloomsburg goalkeeper to make a miraculous save 21-seconds later. Bloomsburg converted its clear attempt and started to kill the clock. Millersville earned one final opportunity in the attacking end, but a quick turnover, with 1:05 remaining, sealed the game for Bloomsburg.
Both teams were relatively even in all recorded stats except for free-position attempts. Bloomsburg earned 11 attempts from the free-position while Millersville only had five attempts. Bloomsburg benefited from the volume of attempts as they converted six into goals.
Fusco led the Marauders with four goals. She was effective from the free-position and scored three goals on three free-position attempts. Leverentz, Speights, and Zimmerman were the other multi-goal scorers for Millersville.
Butzner registered two assists against Bloomsburg, and she tied Abby Mack's single-season assist record of 32 assists.
Millersville falls to 5-2 and 1-2 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. The Marauders play their second-straight game at home when they host No. 23 Lock Haven on Wednesday, March 28. The match up against Lock Haven will be Millersville's second match against a nationally-ranked opponent in three games. The game is slated for a 4 p.m. start.
