
No. 11 Mountain Cats top Millersville, 34-11

Johnstown, Pa. – No. 11 Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats kept their conference record perfect at 5-0 by winning 34-11 over the Millersville. The Mountain Cats broke Millersville's four match winning streak.
At 125 pounds, redshirt junior Connor Sheehan threw a headlock on and scored a takedown. Within seconds of that headlock, Sheehan pinned Brendan Howard at one minute in the first period. It was Sheehan's third pin of the season.
With 44 seconds left of the third period, 133-pound redshirt junior Alex Baider tied his match at 4-4. Baider and Sam Holandez advanced to overtime. Holandez dove toward Baider's legs. Baider stepped back and attacked Holandez to claim the final points of the match. Baider won 6-4 to take a 9-0 lead for the Marauders.
Sophomore 184-pound Evan Morrill went back and forth through the match against Alex Delp and came out with a 12-9 victory for his 10th win of the season.
At the 165-pound weight class, No. 9 ranked Shane Ruhnke took an 8-7 lead into the third period. Ruhnke escaped to take a 9-7 lead with 1:15 left. Devin Austin dove and got Ruhnke's legs, taking him down and tying the match up at 9-9. Then, with 15 seconds left, Austin grabbed a point to claim the 10-9 comeback victory.
Junior Colton Dull (197) went down early, 2-0, in the first period. No. 7 Levi Niebaurer came from the down position to get a takedown for a 4-0 lead at the end of the second period. Niebaurer earned a point to take the match to 5-0 in the last 30 seconds. Dull grabbed a point with less than ten seconds and then had a takedown but ran out of time. Niebaurer broke Dull's four match winning streak. Niebaurer won 5-3.
The Marauders move to the Messiah Open tomorrow, Saturday Feb. 3 starting at 9 a.m.
