GAME OVERVIEW
• Five of the six playoff spots from the PSAC East are locked up, and Millersville is currently 1 1/2 games up in the standings for that No. 6 spot. Lock Haven, sitting in seventh place, looms on Saturday, but first the Marauders must travel to Kutztown where it has not won since 2014. Kutztown has won seven in a row in the series including an 87-77 win at Millersville earlier this season. Kutztown has won each of the last four match-ups by double-digits.
• Wednesday's game is the 211th all-time meeting between the programs. The series dates back to 1903-04, making Kutztown Millersville's oldest and most familiar rival. Aside from a six year span during the World War II era, Millersville and Kutztown have played each season since 1908-09.
•
Marcus Adkison ranks sixth in the PSAC and 41st in Division II in 3-point field goal percentage. Only Anthony Lee of IUP has taken more threes with a better percentage. Adkison also ranks 38th in Division II in threes made per game. He needs just two more made threes to reach 73 and become the third player in Millersville history with two entries in the single season top 10. He will be the first Marauder to accomplish the feat since Lance Gelnett in 1990-91, 1991-92.
• With a current free throw percentage of .873, Adkison is on pace to set the single-season school record, which was set at .863 by Sam Light in 2014-15. Adkison ranks fifth in the PSAC and 37th in Division II in percentage.
• Adkison leads the PSAC in total steals with 58 and is third in steals per game at 2.3. He ranks ninth in the nation in total steals. He needs just three more to tie Mike Monroe (1989-90) and Harold Ford (1969-79) for ninth on Millersville's singe-season steals list.
• Against Shippensburg on Feb. 7, Adkison became the 36th Marauder to score 1,000 career points and the first since Reggie Bates in 2007. His current streak of 24 consecutive games in double figures is the longest single-season run by a Marauder since Greg Testa did it in all 27 games of the 2005-06 season.
• Millersville's turnover margin of 4.52 is second-best in the PSAC, and it is one of only two teams with a margin better than 2.0. That numbers is good for 11th-best in Division II. The Marauders also rank fourth in the country in steals and seventh nationally in turnovers forced as opponents average 18.8 per game. Millersville is 9-9 this season when committing fewer turnovers than its opponent but is 0-7 when it commits more turnovers.
• A key to Millersville's success is the play of its two seniors. In Millersville's nine wins,
Jordan Greene has averaged 13.2 points and 5.8 rebounds while shooting .527 from the field and .407 from three. In the 16 losses, however, Greene's scoring average drops to 11.7 and his percentage drop to .447/.308. Similarly, Chambers averages 12.2 points on .438 field goal shooting in the team's wins. In losses, his averages are 9.3 points per game and .406 shooting.
Marcus Adkison averages a full four points per game more in the team's nine wins and shoots .493 from three compared to .383 from three in the 16 losses.
SCOUTING KUTZTOWN
• Kutztown has already clinched its fifth consecutive PSAC Tournament berth and hosts Shippensburg on Monday before getting Millersville on Wednesday. The Golden Bears started the season 13-2 but are 2-3 in the last five games. In those three losses, they have allowed 101 or more points twice.
• Kutztown's 87.2 points per game ranks second in the PSAC, but its scoring defense ranks 12th (79.4). Similarly, Kutztown ranks first in field goal percentage (.492) but ninth in field goal percentage defense.
• Anthony Lee is one of the top shooters in Division II. He ranks third in the conference in scoring average with 22.4 points per game. He's also the only player in the league shooting over 50 percent from three (.512). He's done it on 129 attempts and is ranked No.1 in Division II in the category. He also ranks fourth in the PSAC in field goal percentage at .556.
• Ethan Ridgeway ranks second in Division II in assists per game at 7.9.
