ABOUT THE MARAUDERS
• The Marauders battle in-state competition at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships on Saturday Dec. 8. The conference championship meet features 12 teams and gets underway at 10 a.m., inside Keystone Arena, hosted by Kuztown University.
• Millersville joins fellow Division II programs East Stroudsburg, Gannon, Mercyhurst, Kuztown, Shippensburg, Seton Hill and Pitt-Johnstown. Also, competing are the PSAC's four Division I wrestling programs: Edinboro, Lock Haven, Clarion and Bloomsburg.
• A major change has been initiated to the PSAC Wrestling Championships, effective this season. There is no longer team scoring. The conference championships will still recognize individual weight-class champions.
• Last Friday was the final tune-up before the PSAC Championships. The Marauders lost their third conference dual against Mercyhurst, 35-5. Senior Colton Dull won the lone bout for the Marauders, winning a 19-2 technical fall. Millersville won its first dual of the season against Delaware Valley, 21-14, before losing to No. 6 Pitt-Johnstown (30-6) and No. 21 Seton Hill (29-13).
• 2018 All-American and fourth-ranked redshirt senior Shane Ruhnke (165) returns to the conference championships with a 2-1 start. Ruhnke takes the mat coming off a 10-4 loss against No. 10 Logan Grass of Mercyhurst. All of his first three duals were against nationally-ranked opponents, winning two of three. Ruhnke finished third place in last year's conference championship.
• There will be six Marauders making their conference championships debut including Connor Sheehan (125), Ryan McGuire (133), Alex Jablonski (141), Rob Saum (157) and Reece Muldoon (184).
• Senior Colton Dull (197), ranked sixth in Division II, has a team-leading four technical falls, which account for all of his wins.
• This will be the second time that the Marauders will be in a tournament environment this season. Two of the four Marauders who placed at the W&J Invitational are projected to start (McGuire and Muldoon). Muldoon has the best tournament record so far at 5-1.
• Three Marauders have four or more victories on their season including McGuire, Muldoon, and Dull.
