GAME OVERVIEW
•    Millersville suffered a heart-breaking 75-73 loss against No. 23 and undefeated West Chester Wednesday, losing on a last-second shot from Matt Penacale. Marcus Adkison scored 26 points and sank a career-high 11 free throws in the defeat. Millersville outscored the Golden Rams  44-39 in the second half. Millersville also forced West Chester into committing 20 turnovers--the most committed by the Golden Rams since the season opener. But that's nothing new for the Marauders, who have now forced at least 20 turnovers in seven consecutive games, including 37 against Cheyney two games ago. Millersville ranks second in the PSAC in turnovers forced (21.7 per game) and is also second in turnover margin (7.0). Nationally, the Marauders rank fourth in turnovers forced.
•    Led by four steals from freshman James Sullivan, the Marauders recorded 10 steals against West Chester, pushing their streak of games with double-digit steals to seven in a row. Millersville now leads all of Division II in steals with 154. Millersville's 30 steals against Penn State Berks remain the most by any team in Division II this season and the second most of any college basketball team, trailing only Division I Youngstown State's 37 against Franciscan. Millersville and West Liberty are the only teams in Division II to force 20-plus steals two times. Millersville owns the No. 1 and No. 3 top steals performances in Division II this season. Millersville's 11.85 steals per game ranks second in the PSAC. Three Marauders rank in the top 15 in the PSAC in steals per game and two (Jamal Washington (1.5/14th) and James Sullivan (1.5/15th) are freshmen. Marcus Adkison leads the team and ranks fifth in the league with 2.4 per game.
•    The Marauders are getting big minutes from freshmen. Sullivan is second on the team in minutes played (28.6) and six Marauder rookies are averaging at least 12.6 minutes per game. Sullivan has played at least 30 minutes seven times. Caden Najdawi has logged 29 or more minutes in five of his 10 appearances. He's scored in double figures in each of those games and averaged 8.6 rebounds in those games. Najdawi has scored in double figures in three consecutive games, shooting 50 percent from the field, 75 percent from the line with five blocks and 8.3 rebounds per game in the same span. While Sullivan has had a rocky start shooting the ball, he has hit nine of his last 10 foul shots, has at least one assist in 10 consecutive games and has 16 steals in his last six games.
•    Adkison's 26-point performance against West Chester was the 12th 20-point game in his 39 games as a Marauder. He's scored in double figures in 12 consecutive games and in 16 of his last 17 dating back to 2016-17. He's averaging 3.0 3-pointers per game while ranking fourth in the PSAC in 3-point field goal percentage. His 77 threes last season were the seventh-most in Millersville history, and he's on pace to hit 84 in the 2017-18 regular season.
•    Defense is key for the Marauders. The Marauders are 0-5 when allowing opponents to shoot 50 percent from the field. They rank 15th in the PSAC in both field goal percentage defense and 3-point field goal percentage defense.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
• Shippensburg's five-game winning streak was halted in a 90-79 road loss at East Stroudsburg on Wednesday. The Raiders' offense is built around the 3-pointer. They have taken a PSAC-leading 314 threes, converting 36.9 percent.  Dustin Sleva is in contention for a second-consecutive PSAC East Player of the Year Award. He ranks third in the league in scoring (23.1) and first in rebounding (11.2). Four of the team's five starters started for last season's PSAC Championship team.
• Mansfield has dropped three in a row after winning three in a row. The Mountaineers are just 2-3 at home. The team is led by the high-scoring trio of Jeremiah Worthem (17.1), Malik Carter (16.7) and Matt Tamanosky (13.9). Tamanosky  leads the PSAC in field goal percentage at .684. Most of Mansfield's offense comes in the paint. The team ranks 15th in the PSAC in 3FG% and has attempted 155 threes, which is 159 fewer than PSAC-leading Shippensburg.
