Edinboro, Pa. - Edinboro defended its home court against the visiting Millersville women's volleyball team Saturday in PSAC action, topping the Marauders 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-20).
Millersville (9-3, 2-2 PSAC) hit a season-low .037, managing just 24 total kills, including just eight in the first set and four in the second. Edinboro (12-3, 2-2 PSAC) , meanwhile, totaled 43 kills to just 12 errors for a .301 hitting percentage. Edinboro was also a handful at the net, totaling eight total blocks on 16 block assists.
Challen Litwiler led Edinbro with 11 kills and also added 20 digs. Millersville was paced
Lindsey Blevins' eight kills.
Erin Harman, less than 24 hours removed from a 21-kill performance against Mercyhurst, totaled just season-low three kills.
In all three sets, Millersville stayed even with the Fighting Scots until they reached the 10th point. In the first, Edinboro broke a 9-9 tie by ripping off a 6-2 run. A 10-10 tie in the second set was followed by a 7-0 Edinboro run. Millersville managed to keep pace in the third, pulling within two at 22-20. But Edinboro scored on the next three serves, using two kills from Jill Glover and an ace from Jordan Van Oss.
Harman improved her career totals to 1,143 kills (ranks fifth all-time at Millersville) and 1,019 digs (11th all-time). One night earlier at Mercyhurst, Harman joined Jennie Rohrbaugh and Allison Huss as the third Marauder to total 1,000 career digs and 1,000 career kills.
Millersville returns home on Oct. 6 to face Kutztown at 6 p.m. Each of the next three matches are in Pucillo Gymnasium.
