Millersville, Pa. - The Millersville women's volleyball team swept Kutztown 25-17, 25-22, 25-17 Friday evening in Pucillo Gymnasium.
Millersville improved to 10-3 overall and 3-2 in PSAC action while Kutztown fell to 5-11 overall and 0-5 in league play. Millersville totaled 36 kills to 16 errors and improved its hitting percentage in each set, culminating with 15 kills and a .294 hitting percentage in the deciding third set.
Erin Harman led the Marauders with nine kills.
Kelsi Ceriani had an efficient performance of six kills and just one error on 15 swings. She also tallied four of the team's 12 block assists.
Grace Dawson (16) and
Katie Laughman (15) nearly evenly split the team's assists.
Millersville led wire-to-wire in the first and third sets and trailed only briefly in set two when Kutztown scored the first three points of the set. The Marauders answered by scoring six in a row. Kutztown later pulled within a point at 21-20 after two Holly Owen kills, but Millersville answered with a kill from
Lindsey Blevins. Harman closed the set with one of her nine kills.
Millersville returns to action Saturday in Pucillo Gymnasium against East Stroudsburg.
