Women's Tennis Ryan Small, Athletic Communication Graduate Assistant

Women’s tennis takes 6-3 loss against Jefferson

Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. – Junior Katina Jones and freshman Lauren Weaver of the Millersville women's tennis team picked up their second singles victory of the season in the 6-3 loss against Jefferson University Tuesday afternoon.

In the No. 1 singles matchup, Jones defeated Marta Yevstakhevych 6-4 in the first set. The second set was a nailbiter, but Jones held on, 7-6. 

Weaver claimed her second in as many dual matches. Weaver won the first set 6-0 in the first set and finished off her opponent second set at 6-4.

Freshman Megan Rovenolt lost her singles match but took a 6-2 second set victory. 

In the doubles competition, Weaver and freshman Victoria Hanus had the one doubles win for the Marauders as they defeated Katelyn High and Emily Zygmunt, 8-6.

Millersville looks to the weekend and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Individual Championships on Saturday, Sept. 30 – Monday, Oct. 2. The championship is hosted by Bloomsburg University.
