West Chester, Pa. - The Millersville University women's volleyball team polished off a perfect opening weekend by sweeping Salem International and Franklin Pierce Saturday at the RamsFest Tournament. The one-sided, 3-0 wins pushed the Marauders' record to 4-0.
Millersville's 25-15, 25-12, 25-6 win over Salem International (0-3) featured four players with nine kills and a .384 team hitting percentage. A 25-22, 25-18, 25-15 victory over Franklin Pierce (2-2) included 17 kills from freshman
Lindsey Blevins, a double-double over 13 kills and 15 digs from
Erin Harman and 40 assists from
Katie Laughman.
The Marauders totaled 46 kills to just eight errors while Salem International mustered just 14 kills in the opener.
Grace Dawson assisted on 35 of those and she added 12 digs. Blevins committed just one error while posting nine kills on 15 swings.
Kelsi Ceriani did the same on 13 attempts.
Millersville totaled 51 kills and only 16 errors against Franklin Pierce. Blevins matched her career high with 17. Harman's 13 kills came with only one error.
Only the first set was closely contested. The Marauders trailed 19-18, but Blevins evened the score with a kill and Ceriani added two in a row to push the Marauders on top 21-19. A Millersville attack error and Hannah St. Jean service ace pulled Franklin Pierce even again, but Harman took over from there. She scored four of the match's next five points including back-to-back kills to close the 25-22 win.
The Marauders led by as many as nine points in set two and closed set three on a 5-1 run for a 25-15 win.

Kat Forry capped her weekend with double-digit digs in three consecutive matches including 13 against both Salem International and Franklin Pierce.
The Marauders make their home debut on Sept. 6 against Jefferson.
