Men's Tennis Ryan Small, Athletic Communication Graduate Assistant

Fellman records first collegiate win as men's tennis starts season

Amherst, N.Y. – Millersville University freshman Ben Fellman earned a victory in his collegiate debut in the first round of the Daemen Tournament hosted by Daemen College.

Against Roberts Wesleyan's Guido Jannsen, Fellman took the first set, 6-4. Jannsen won the second set by the same score, and then Fellman secured the 10-7 win in the third set to advance to the second round. In the quarterfinals, Fellman lost to Le Moyne's Jason Barton.

Millersville played five consolation matches in which freshman Erich Nagel took home an 8-2 victory and junior Christian Akerley defeated Ewan Malenfant of Allegheny, 8-5.

The Marauders went 0 for 4 in doubles.

All matches were grouped in seven draws for singles play. Singles draws were color coded as followed: red (No. 1), orange (No. 2), yellow, (No. 3), green (No. 4), blue (No. 5), indigo (No. 6).

The Marauders travels back home to play Elizabethtown University on Sunday, Sept. 24 at 12 p.m.
