Lock Haven, Pennsylvania -- The Millersville women's lacrosse team lost 18-7 at Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference rival Lock Haven University Wednesday.
The Marauders were outscored by the Bald Eagles 7-3 in the first half. Freshman
Erin Fagan scored in the opening 37 seconds of the second half, and junior
Callie Kavanaugh scored three minutes later to cut LHU's lead to two. The Bald Eagles responded with four unanswered goals in a five minute period to put the game out of reach. Junior
Sabrina Fusco scored two more for the Marauders before the game ended.
Fusco continued her streak of scoring at least one goal in each game this season. Kavanaugh recorded her third straight multi-goal performance. Kavanaugh now ranks second on the team with 25 goals scored. Freshman
Sarah Leverentz's goal extended her scoring streak to eight straight games.
The Marauders fall to 7-9 and 4-7 in the PSAC conference. Millersville's loss to LHU coupled with Bloomsburg University's win over Kutztown University put the playoffs out of reach for the Marauders this season.
Millersville returns home to play their final game of the season and celebrate senior day April 28 at 1 p.m. against Gannon University.
