East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania -- The Millersville women's lacrosse team lost 13-6 at Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference rival East Stroudsburg University Thursday.
The Warriors controlled the game from the start as they rushed out to a 3-0 lead in the first ten minutes. Junior

Callie Kavanaugh's assist to cut the lead to one. The Warriors responded by ripping off three more unanswered goals to close the half with a 6-2 lead.
ESU kept up their pace from the first half and outscored Millersville 7-4 in the second half. Despite the game out of reach, Kavanaugh scored her 19th and 20th goals of the season in the course of seven minutes. Freshmen
Sarah Leverentz and
Noelle Smith also notched goals before the second half closed.
With the loss to ESU, the Marauders fall to 6-8 on the season and 3-6 in conference play. Fusco's goal in the first half extended her scoring streak to 14 straight games. Kavanaugh is the third Marauder to reach the 20 goal mark on the season. Davis is close behind with 17 goals scored this season. ESU only out shot Millersville 32-27, but the Warriors were able to convert more of their chances. Millersville won eight more draw controls than ESU.
Millersville returns to Biemesderfer Stadium to face PSAC rival Slippery Rock University April 22 at 1 p.m.
