Kutztown, Pennsylvania -- The Millersville women's tennis team earned its first win of the season by blanking Pennsylvania State Athletic Eastern Division rival Kutztown University 9-0 Saturday.
Sophomore
Katina Jones defeated her opponent perfectly as she won both sets, 6-0. Sophomore
Sarah Sambrick won a competitive first set 7-6 before besting her opponent in the second set, 6-2. Junior
Kimberly Theophile won a competitive match 6-4, 7-5. Sophomore
Haley Nauman took her first set 6-1 and then won a competitive second set, 6-4. Sophomores
Kelley Hershey and
Jessica Soullaird copied each other as they won each of their matches 6-1, 6-1.
Jones and Sambrick won a competitive doubles match 8-5 while Nauman and Kulp won an even more contentious doubles match 8-6. Theophile and Hershey easily won their doubles match, 8-1.
The women's tennis team's next event is at Head Coach
Matt Helsel's former school, Elizabethtown College, on April 2 at 1 p.m.
