GAME OVERVIEW
• The Marauders hosted PSAC rival Lock Haven on Wednesday night and treated the Bald Eagles to a 4-0 wallop. Freshman
Talia Grynkewicz netted a brace while junior
Lauren Hoffman scored her first goal of the season off a penalty kick, and junior
Delaney Meadows ripped off a banger from way outside the box. Sophomore
Kate Phillips saved eight shots and earned her second straight clean sheet.
• Before kicking off against the Golden Knights, the Marauders will celebrate seniors Stacie Hallian and
Rachel Lyon's Millersville careers.
ABOUT THE SERIES
• Gannon has won all seven match ups against Millersville since the series began in 2010.
THE LAST MEETING: Gannon 1, Millersville 0Â (Sep. 24, 2016)
• Gannon scored an early first half goal and held on to win a mostly defensive game. Millersville placed four of nine shots on goal while Gannon put five of six on net, and both keepers made dramatic saves to keep the game a low scoring affair. Gannon's keeper proved to be the difference maker as she barely denied attempts by
Kay Liebl and
Amanda McElhare in the second half.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
• Gannon was picked to finish fourth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference while receiving one first place vote. The Golden Knights played well in conference and secured a playoff spot. The PSAC women's standings are still wide open as all seeding is undetermined going into the final weekend of the regular season.
• Gannon plays well on both ends of the field and averages nearly two goals a game while holding opponents to less than a goal per game.
• Taylor Lewis powers the Gannon offense and has scored 31 points during the season. The sophomore forward paired 12 goals with seven assists. Sarah Kaiser and Emily Cekella also combined for 27 points during the season. The offensive trio will prove to be a tough test for a Millersville defense that has played well recently with two straight clean sheets.
