Lock Haven, Pennsylvania - The Millersville women's basketball team outscored Lock Haven 18-4 in the first quarter and never looked back, coasting to a 64-46 victory Monday. Ten different Marauders scored inlcuding
Celeste Robinson and
Jade Farquhar who led the team with 11 points apiece.
Millersville shot just under 40 percent for the game but outrebounded Lock Haven 50-32. The Marauders outscored the Bald Eagles 40-26 in the paint and dominated second chance points 24-10.
The Marauders blitzed the Bald Eagles to start the game, jumping out to an 11-0 lead and getting buckets from four different players. Lock Haven finally got on the board with 2:42 remaining in the first quarter, but Millersville remained hot and closed out the quarter with an 18-4 lead after a
Kendra Bamberger layup.
Jade Farquhar got things going in the second quarter, hitting a pair of free throws and a three-pointer as Millersville took a 23-7 lead. Millersville would end the second on a 4-0 run and go into halftime up by 20 points.
Lock Haven was more efficient in the third, matching Millersville bucket for bucket but still trailed 45-25 at the end of the quarter. The Bald Eagles would actually outscore Millersville by two in the fourth, but the Marauders cruised to a 64-46 victory.
Millersville now improves to 6-8 (4-5 PSAC) and has a quick turnaround, welcoming Indiana (Pa.) to Pucillo Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
