Millersville, Pennsylvania - The PSAC East leading Shippensburg Raiders dominated from the tip, leading the entire game and defeating Millersville, 62-51.
Alayah Hall led the team with 18 points and
Celeste Robinson had 17 but the Marauders had no answer for the balanced attack of Shippensburg which shot over 44 percent from the field.
Colleen Young scored 18 while Morgan Griffith and Stephanie Knauer had 15 and 11 respectively. Shippensburg controlled the offensive glass, reeling in 12 rebounds (34 overall) and moved the ball extremely well totaling 16 assists as a team.
The Raiders jumped out to a 4-0 lead before
Celeste Robinson hit a 3-pointer to get the Marauders on the board. Robinson tried to keep Millersville in the game, but the Marauders struggled to score as Shippensburg jumped out to a 21-5 lead. The buckets continued to fall for the Raiders as they took a 42-23 lead into halftime.Â
The lead would get to 25 in the third quarter after Griffith hit a three. Millersville would out-score the Raiders in the fourth but the run was too late as Shippensburg outlasted the Marauders down the stretch.Â
The Marauders now fall to 8-12 (6-9) and will hit the road and hope to rebound Wednesday at Mansfield.Â
