GAME OVERVIEW
•   Millersville is looking to snap a four-game losing streak against one of the PSAC's hottest teams in IUP. The Crimson Hawks have won four in a row and are the second nationally-ranked opponent Millersville has played in its last four games. Millersville's schedule has been brutal of late. Including IUP, its last six opponents' combined record is 69-26, and three of its last four PSAC opponents own a combined 26-1 league record.
•   Millersville and IUP have met just 37 times since the first meeting in 1930, and since 2001-02, IUP has won 11 of 13 meetings including six in a row. Pucillo Gymnasium is foreign territory for the Crimson Hawks as six of the last seven meetings have taken place at IUP. The last time the teams met at Millersville came in 2012-13 with IUP narrowly escaping 58-55. Since 1992, Millersville is 3-4 at home against IUP. The programs met just five times between 1941-1975.
•   Millersville looked as if it rediscovered a winning formula against Lock Haven Monday. The Marauders made 12-of-25 threes and
Marcus Adkison scored 25 points--his fifth 20-point game of the season and his first since Dec. 4. Adkison made 5-of-9 threes after making a total of six in his previous five games. Millersville led for more than 34 consecutive minutes until Lock Haven made a 13-1 run in the final 4:10. Millersville was previously 4-0 when making double-digit threes. Millersville is now 4-5 when Adkison scores in double-figures and 1-2 when he doesn't. Adkison averages 21.2 points per game in Millersville's five wins but 15.6 points per game in the eight losses. Adkison still ranks seventh in the PSAC in scoring average and ninth in 3-point field goal percentage (.416).
•  Â
Conrad Chambers ranks 11th in the league in 3-point field goal percentage (.412) and has made at least one three in 12 of 13 games. He's scored in double figures in 11 of 13 games. Millersville is 0-2 when Chambers fails to score at least 10 points.
•  Â
Cornell Yarde II is a former Crimson Hawk, playing at IUP for two seasons. He played 29 minutes in his return to IUP last season but shot 1-of-6 and scored just two points. Yarde has totaled 60 points in his last three games and is also averaging 6.3 rebounds in that stretch. He's made 10 of his last 11 foul shots and is the team leader in minutes played, averaging 34.3 minutes per game. He's played at least 30 minutes in 11 of 13 games and all 40 minutes three times.
•   Millersville made at least nine threes in five of the first seven games, going 4-3 in that stretch. But in this 2-7 stretch, Millersville has made nine-plus threes just three times. In the recent four-game skid, Millersville has shot 46.8 percent from the field and a strong 35.7 percent from three, but opponents are averaging 95.5 points per game while shooting 54.6 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from three.
•   Millersville must find a way to play better in the second half of games. Millersville has been slightly outscored 486-477 in the first half of games but has been outscored 554-489 in the second half. Millersville has led at the half seven times and are 4-3 in those games.
SCOUTING IUP
• IUP is 4-0 away from home and riding a four game winning streak. The team's only two losses have come against nationally-ranked opponents. IUP lost to No. 14 Shippensburg at home and lost in overtime to No. 2 Fairmont State. IUP has won at least 21 games for eight consecutive seasons and has reached the NCAA Tournament in six of the last seven years.
• Dante Lombardi was named PSAC West Athlete of the Week Monday after averaging 17.5 points and 4.5 assists on the week. Lombardi is one of four players averaging double figures this season. Jacobo Diaz leads the team with 14.7 points per game and is also the team leader in rebounding at 10.6 per game.
• IUP is outstanding at sharing the ball. Four players have more than 40 assists and every one of those players has a positive assist/turnover ratio. IUP ranks fifth in the PSAC in that category. IUP also ranks fourth in scoring defense and field goal percentage defense.
