Erie, Pennsylvania - Millersville women's volleyball opened Friday's PSAC crossover at Gannon with a first set win, but the homestanding Golden Knights rallied back by sweeping the next three sets to win 3-1 (21-25, 25-21, 25-9, 25-15).
Millersville (2-8) opened the match with a stellar first set, posting 15 kills to three errors.
Kelsi Ceriani posted five kills in the set and the Maruaders took a 1-0 lead in the match. Millersville nearly took a 2-0 lead in set two. The Marauders led 16-12 mid-way throughand was still in the lead as late as 18-17. Gannon, however, scored three consecutive points to take the lead.
Haley Butler delivered a kill and
Katie Laughman served up an ace to cut Gannon's lead to 21-20. The Golden Knights scored four of the final five points, though.
After 15 kills in the first two sets, Millersville mustered just 10 total in the final two. The Marauders committed nine errors and scored just nine points in the third set and totaled six kills to five errors in the fourth.
Ceriani managed four kills after a stellar opening set.
Erin Harman posted a double-double with 15 kills and 14 digs. Laughman recorded a career-high 23 digs.
Millersville stays in Erie and takes on Mercyhurst Saturday.
