Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - The Philadelphia Rams swept the visiting Millersville Marauders in women's volleyball action Tuesday night by scores of 25-14, 25-19, 25-14.
Philadelphia (7-3) limited Millersville (2-4) to a .072 hitting percentage. The Marauders mustered just seven kills to 11 errors in the deciding third set, and finished the match with 13 service errors. Philadelphia, meanwhile committed just 11 errors while piling up 37 kills, including 12 from Courtney Wensel.
Millersville was led by Erin Harmn's 12 kills on 38 attempts. No other Marauder managed more than seven.
Grace Dawson totaled 26 assists.
The opening set was knotted at 12 before Philadelphia went on a 13-2 run. Eight of those points came on Philadelphia kills. In similar fashion, set two was close mid-way through, with the Rams holding a slight 14-12 lead after a kill from
Kelsi Ceriani. The Rams, however, scored the next three points to build a a five-point lead and never led by fewer than four the rest of the way. Set three was tied at 9-9, but Philadelphia was helped by 11 Millersville service and attack errors over the final 14 points.
Millersville travels to Syracuse this weekend for three matches at Le Moyne.
