Cheyney, Pa. - The Millersville women's tennis team traveled to Cheyney Tuesday and picked up a pair of wins including one toward PSAC East play. Six matches were completed in both of the duals with Millersville winning 6-0 in both.
In the first match-up, Millersville (4-8, 2-0 PSAC East) swept the doubles matches and scored three singles wins. The other three singles matches were not finished. The No. 1 doubles team of
Sarah Sambrick and
Nicole Daacke teamed for an 8-0 win.
Kimberly Theophile and
Kaylora Thompson (No. 2) and
Jessica Crilley and
Paola Zablah (No. 3) followed suit with 8-0 wins. In singes, Daacke (No. 2), Theopile (No. 3) and
Heather Grove (No. 6) all won by 6-0 scores.
The Marauders followed that with a non-conference win in which all six Marauders won their singles matches. No doubles matches were contested. Sambrick won over Jasmine Richardson by a 6-0, 6-0 score in the No. 1 flight. Daacke won by shutout at No. 2, as did
Kelley Hershey at No. 4 and Zablah at No. 6. Thompson and Crilley picked up 6-1, 6-0 wins.
Millersville travels to Chestnut Hill or a non-conference match-up on Friday.
