Kutztown, Pennsylvania - A trio of Marauders tallied double-digit kills, leading the Millersville women's volleyball team to a 3-1 road win at Kutztown Saturday (25-20, 18-25, 25-19, 25-12).
Erin Harman posted a team-high 16 kills and a .239 hitting percentage and was supported by
Kelsi Ceriani's 15 kills and
Brittany Ford's career-high 12 kills and .360 hitting percentage.
Grace Dawson totaled a season-high 44 assists, crossing the 40-assists barrier for the third time this season. Five Marauders tallied double-digit digs. Ford made a career-high 11 and Dawson led the team with 15.
Millersville, now winners of three of the last four, recorded double-digit kills in all four sets
It all started with 16 kills to just four errors in the opening set. Harman and Ceriani closed the set with four consecutive kills. After slipping in the second set, Millersville responded in the third with a late run. Leading 18-16, the Marauders scored six of the next seven points--all on kills. Ceriani, Ford and
Haley Butler each tallied two in the run.
Millersville rolled in the third set, outscoring Kutztown 22-10 after opening the set with a 3-2 score. Ceriani recorded three of the Marauders' final four points.
Millersville travels to Shippensburg for a PSAC Central match on Oct. 11.
