Complete Game Notes (.PDF)GAME OVERVIEW• In the 2014-15 season, Millersville and East Stroudsburg split in the regular season, but Kohler Fieldhouse has become a near impossible place to win for Millersville (2-15, 2-11 PSAC) in recent years. East Stroudsburg (14-3, 10-3 PSAC) ended Millersville's season in the PSAC Quarterfinals for the second season in a row on the floor, and Millersville has now lost its last eight games in the building dating back to 2009.
• The Marauders have dropped 14-straight games and 10-straight conference contests after falling 101-59 to West Chester last Wednesday. The Golden Rams scored the opening basket and used absolutely lights-out shooting from 3-point range in both periods to hand the Marauders their worst loss of the season. The Golden Rams shot 9-of-11 from downtown in the first frame and finished the game shooting 71.4 percent (15-of-21) from distance. The Marauders were unable to string together consecutive successful offensive possessions in the first half as the home team carried a 55-26 advantage into the break. The Marauders shot just 10-of-29 from the field in the opening half. The offense didn't improve much in the second half. Millersville shot 11-of 31 (35.5 percent) in the final 20 minutes.
• Millersville is 16th in the PSAC in scoring, averaging 66.0 points per contest; the Marauders have reached 70 points just five times in 17 games this season, including a season-high 79 against California (Pa.).
• Forward
Scott Slade Jr. has put together back-to-back career efforts after matching his previous season-high in scoring (7) against Bloomsburg; Slade Jr. led the Marauders with 12 points in the loss to West Chester. During that span the Philadelphia Pa., native has shot 38 percent from the floor (5-of-13) and has chipped in nine rebounds.
• A key player for the Marauders to slow down will be senior guard Jamal Nwaniemeka who won PSAC East Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week earlier this month. A preseason All-PSAC East selection, Nwaniemeka leads ESU with 13.2 points per game and 28.9 minutes per game through 17 games. He is second on the team in assists (2.41 per game) and blocks (9) and third in rebounds (2.7 per game) and steals (24). He is averaging a team-high 15.0 points and shooting 52.8 percent from the field and 42.5 percent (17-for-40) from the three-point line during the current eight-game winning streak.
• The Warriors own the top field goal percentage in the PSAC at 49 percent and are extremely balanced holding opponets to a league leading 39 percent from the floor. ESU has three players averaging double figures (Rasheed Moore, Jamal Nwaniemeka and Will Brown).
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT• East Stroudsburg has won three straight outright PSAC East regular season titles (2013-15), and has won or shared the PSAC East title in four of the last six years. The Warriors have been extremely dominant at home especially under head coach Jeff Wilson (146-54, 70-36 PSAC East). ESU has posted a 80-18 mark at home since 2010 and have been 46-8 since 2013.
• Last time out, forward Rasheed Moore posted his third double-double of the season and his ninth of his career with 19 points and 12 rebounds in ESU's 102-84 win at Lock Haven. The Warriors have won eight-straight games overall and seven straight against PSAC competition as they are the league's highest scoring team (89.9) and have hit the 100-point plus mark five times this season. ESU is in the midst of a winning streak of 8+ games for the sixth time in the last nine seasons. The Warriors' previous winning streak of at least eight games prior to the 2007-08 season was a 10-game stretch in 1972-73 (no streaks of 8+ wins for 34 years).
