Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville women's volleyball team kept rolling on day two of the Marauder Clash, defeating USciences (25-18, 25-19, 25-17) and edging out Ohio Valley in four sets (24-26, 25-13, 25-19, 25-21).
Senior
Kayla Wallace and sophomore
Erin Harman dominated at the net recording 29 kills each. Freshman
Grace Dawson continued her consistent play with 40 assists in both matches and libero
Brooklyn Smith totaled 42 digs. Â
The Marauders began their season 4-0 for the second consecutive season and look to improve to 5-0 when they travel to St. Rose September 11.Â

MILLERSVILLE 3, USCIENCES 0Unlike on day one, Millersville was forced to come back multiple times versus its opponent. In the first set against the Devils, the Marauders trailed 9-5 when
Erin Harman sent home a kill starting a string of six unanswered points for Millersville. With
Renee Drawbaugh serving, Wallace and
Brittany Ford combined for four kills in a row to give Millersville an 11-9 lead. Although the Marauder's never trailed again, USciences kept things close. With the score 18-16,
Emily Kaledas registered a kill that put Millersville in the driver's seat. The team reeled off five straight points before sophomore Kelsi Ceriana finished the set in commanding fashion with of of her 10 kills of the match.
The second set mirrored the first as Millersville was forced to come from behind. With the score 15-13 in favor of the Devils,
Kayla Wallace recorded a kill, setting up
Brittany Ford to serve, who went on to serve for seven straight Marauder points.Â
Grace Dawson had 13 assists and libero
Brooklyn Smith chipped in eight digs in the set. Millersville never trailed in the third set and with the Dawson's 13 assists and Ceriana's six kills, the Marauders cruised to victory.
MILLERSVILLE 3, OHIO VALLEY 1InMillersville faced a fellow 3-0 team in Ohio Valley in the finale. In set one, Millersville held a 24-19 lead and squandered it away as Ohio Valley won seven points in a row to take the set. But the Marauders responded by taking the next three sets. Set two was dominated by Millersville after Drawbaugh served for four straight points doubling Ohio Valley's score 14-7. They eventually took the set, 25-13. Although set three featured four ties, Millersville never trailed with Wallace (seven kills) and
Brooklyn Smith (10 digs) leading the way.
The fourth set was a true test for the Marauders as the fell behind, 9-1. But the Marauders scored nine of the next 11 points, and Ceriani recorded a kill to pull Millersville within one at 11-10. That kill started another streak of seven straight Marauder points behind the serve of
Taylor Smith. Wallace added four kills in the set including the set-winner which brought her match total to 17.Â
