Edinboro, Pa. – Cydney Hycro scored with 11 seconds remaining in the match to give Edinboro an 11-10 win over the Millersville women's lacrosse team on Saturday afternoon at Sox Harrison Stadium. Millersville falls to 3-5 overall and 1-3 in PSAC action, while the Fighting Scots improve to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in league play.

For the second consecutive match, the Marauders got off to a slow offensive start and faced an early 4-0 deficit in the first period after an Edinboro goal scored by Rebecca Martin at the 25:02 mark. Millersville then settled into the match as
Bridget Hufnagel and
Sabrina Fusco accounted for the Black & Gold's first two goals. The Fighting Scots answered just minutes later with goals by Alexa Healy and Emily Peters as the margin again grew to four goals at 6-2.

Millersville closed the first half with a pair of goals from
Renee Landis and Fusco to make it 6-4 at the intermission. The Marauders opened the second half on fire with five straight goals for a 9-6 lead with 21:49 to play. Senior
Hannah Vogel accounted for the first two goals in the second period, to go along with a free position effort by
Renee Landis, a strike by
Abby Mack and an efficient combination play between
Bridget Hufnagel that was finished off by Fusco.

The Black & Gold defense held Edinboro scoreless for over 22 minutes, before conceding a Cydney Hyckro goal to make it 9-7 with 19:23 remaining. Hyckro took over for the home team with two more goals from the sophomore midfielder, with the last effort tying the contest at nine goals apiece at the 13:28 mark.

Both teams would go on to struggle with turnovers as the Marauders were plagued by 26 in the match. The home team would score its fourth straight goal to regain the lead at 10-9 with 11:01 remaining. Millersville would knot the match up at 10-10 on
Sabrina Fusco's third tally of the match.

Neither team would score after that until Hryko drew a foul inside the attacking area in which gave the sophomore midfielder a free position attempt that she converted to put Edinboro up 11-10 with 11 seconds remaining. Millersville won the ensuing draw control, but was unable to generate a shot attempt as the clock expired.

Edinboro finished the PSAC contest with a 29-17 advantage in shots, but the Marauders held a 14-9 advantage in draw controls. Freshman goalkeeper
Shannon Davis continued her impressive start to her collegiate career notching her third straight match with 10 or more saves and now has dropped her goals against average to a season best 14.29.

Millersville returns to action on Tuesday, March 31 when it hosts West Chester in a pivotal midseason contest. The Marauders currently sit 11th in the PSAC, with the Golden Rams just ahead of them sporting a 4-3 overall record and 2-2 mark in conference play. First draw control at Biemesderfer Stadium is set for 4 p.m.
