Hilton Head, S.C. - The Millersville women's tennis team was unable to snag a match from Slippery Rock as it fell by a 9-0 score on Thursday in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
The match opened with a doubles sweep that put Slippery Rock ahead 3-0. Slippery Rock's Carla Corrochano and Nina Barbano defeated
Tori Davis and
Kaylora Thompson 8-1 in No. 1 doubles.
Nicole Daacke and
Kimberly Theophile were downed in No. 2 doubles with an 8-3 score.
In singles play,
Kaylora Thompson performed the best for the Marauders as she won three sets in No. 2 singles. Thompson was unable to secure the match victory as she fell 6-1, 6-2.
Millersville drops to 1-5 on the season with the loss and are scheduled to play their final dual of spring break tomorrow when it plays Delaware Technical & CC/Stanton-Wilmington. The match is slated to begin at 8 a.m.
