
Baider Top Finisher for Marauders at PSAC Championships

Erie, Pa. - Sophomore 133-pounder Alex Baider posted Millersville's top finish at the PSAC Championships Saturday, taking fifth place with a 3-2 record. As a team, the Marauders finished 12th out of 12 teams.
Baider was one of four Marauders to win a match and the lone Marauder to win more than one. He opened his tournament with a 5-2 decision over Shippensburg's Dante Steffenino. He advanced to the championship semifinals with a 9-5 decision over Aaron Smith, but that was where is run ended. Top-seeded Bob Rehm of Lock Haven sent Baider to the consolation round via technical fall. Baider drew a rematch with Steffenino, and this time, the Raider turned the tables for a 5-3 decision.
In the fifth-place match, Baider won a 7-3 decision over Seton Hill's Rodney Sunday. Baider pushed his record to 11-2 with after the showing.
Millersville's other wrestlers with wins included freshman 165-pounder Christian Almony, who picked his team-high fifth pin of the season in his first round win over Pitt-Johnstown's Tyler Reinhart. Thomas Nulty earned a 3-0 consolation bracket win over Cody Blankenship of Shippensburg. 184-pound Kyle Narber also won a consolation bracket match, taking a 12-6 decision against Casey Glunt of Bloomsburg.
Millersville takes two weeks off until the David H. Lehman F&M Open on Dec. 30.
