
Camacci Shines in F&M Open

Lancaster, Pa. - The Millersville wrestling team returned to action Wednesday as they competed in the Dave Lehman Franklin and Marshall Open.
Junior Austin Camacci was the bright spot for the Marauders as he placed second in the 125 pound division. After receiving a bye in the first round, Camacci defeated Michael Beck of Maryland by a 6-5 decision. In his semifinal matchup, Camacci won by a score of 12-9 when he outlasted Nolan Hellickson of Harvard. Camacci eventually fell in a 10-6 decision in the final round.
Alex Baider looked fresh after receiving a bye in the first round as he defeated Franklin and Marshall's Dan Martoccio by a 7-1 decision to advance to the quarterfinal of the consolation round in the 133 pound division. Baider continued to impress as he scored another win by the score of 3-1 over Ezekial Salvo of Brown University before being knocked off by a 5-0 decision. Baider eventually fell in the semifinals of the consolation round to Harvard's Ryan Friedman by way of a 5-2 decision.
Seven other Marauders scored at least one victory with Sam Oberlander (133) and D.J. Mele (157) scoring their first victories by technical fall. Thomas Nulty (141) and Seth Decker (165) both totaled two wins, scoring one victory in the championship round and one in the consolation round.
Millersville next travels to Erie on January 2nd as they will wrestle Lake Erie College and Mercyhurst in their first dual in 2016.
