Women’s Swimming Finishes Sixth at F&M Invitational

Lancaster, Pa. – After three days of competition against Division I, II, and III opponents, the Millersville women's swimming team concluded the F&M Invitational with 621 points which was good for a sixth-place finish.
Grace Magerr raced out to a first-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle. Magerr touched the wall with a recorded time of 5:01.94 as the mark represents the fastest time in program history. Teammate Lizzie Ebert finished 19th in the event with a recorded time of 5:23.50.
In the 100-yard freestyle Brigid Kavanaugh turned in a top-five finish with a time of 53.70. Rachel Malampy and Lizzie Ebert finished 18th and 19th.
Senior Jaime Cessna swam a personal best in the 200-yard butterfly. Cessna finished the event 14th and touched the final wall with a recorded time of 2:16.83.
Emily Fusco capped off an outstanding meet with a third-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke. Fusco re-broke her program record in the event with a recorded time of 58:45 in the finals.
The Marauders finished sixth in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Brigid Kavanaugh, Lizzie Ebert, Grace Magerr and Rachel Malampy finished with a time of 3:37.49 earning the Marauders 48 points.
Millersville now has an almost a month and a half break before returning to competition. Next, the Marauders travel to Boca Raton, Fla., where they will compete in the Lynn University Sprint Invitational.
