GAME OVERVIEW• Millersville is in the midst of a three-game home stand and for the second straight season it hosts the Lock Haven Bald Eagles at Pucillo Field. The Marauders will be looking for their first home win of the 2015 season. The Black & Gold have tallied 12 goals on 46 shots, but have given up 17 goals on 81 shots.
Matt Procopio's squad has been the least penalized team in the PSAC as the Marauders have only been shown one yellow card.
• Through its first nine games, the Millersville women's soccer team ranks 12th in the PSAC in goals against average (1.89). Marauder keeper
Samantha Wolfe has been by far the most active keeper in the PSAC facing 121 shots, while recording 64 saves, which ranks fourth in the conference. Wolfe has also tallied two shutouts against PSAC foes Slippery Rock and Edinboro.
• In its most recent match, the Marauders ceased the momentum in the 37th minute when forward
Halie Parker opened the scoring.
Meagan Newmister flicked a pass up the field to Parker who ripped a dipping shot from 35-yards out that fooled West Chester keeper Alex Srolis. The goal represented a team-leading fifth of the season for Parker who ranks 10th in the PSAC in scoring with 13 points. West Chester went on to rally by scoring four unanswered goals, including three in the second half.
ABOUT THE SERIES• The Marauders have won two-straight contests against Lock Haven, including a 3-1 victory in 2014 at Pucillo Field on Senior Day. From 1995-2002, Millersville was unable to secure a victory over the Bald Eagles until a 2-1 win during the PSAC Postseason Tournament.
THE LAST MEETING (MILLERSVILLE 3, LOCK HAVEN 1 - OCT. 25, 2014)• Last season, the Marauders netted three unanswered second half goals to secure the 3-1 win over Lock Haven. The Bald Eagles ceased the early momentum of the match thanks to a Jaime Hunter goal in the 8th minute. Millersville had plenty of opportunities to equalize as they fired 10 first half shots, but Bald Eagle goalkeeper Michelle Cuomo was able to make several timely saves. A ferocious Marauder attack out of the halftime break led to a Lock Haven defensive miscommunication inside the box as they scored an own goal at the 46:32 mark, leveling the match at one. Just over a minute later Millersville was able to lead another attack that resulted in a Bald Eagle defender committing a foul inside the penalty box resulting in a Millersville a penalty kick opportunity that was converted upon. An insurance effort was added by
Kady Yoders in the 70th minute as she fired a laser from 20-yards out that went straight into the back of the net.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT• Lock Haven enters Wednesday's matchup sporting a 2-8 overall record and own a 2-7 mark within conference play. The Bald Eagles were selected to finish 15th in the 2015 Preseason Women's Soccer Coaches' poll and have been offensively paced by freshman Jordan Shoff and returners Sarah Bonelli and Haylea Myers. Shoff leads the team with four goals on 27 shots in her rookie campaign. Goalkeeper Morgan Euston recently returned from injury after missing two games in the month of September. Lock Haven is coming off of a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to Seton Hill. Sarah Bonelli scored twice and Alexa Ream tied the match late, but Seton Hill's Alex McIntosh netted the game-winner in the 89th minute. Â
