Millersville Earns a Split in Saturday's Action

Lock Haven, Pa. – The Millersville women's volleyball team started Saturday in the same fashion it finished Friday night, losing to Lock Haven, 3-1 (25-19, 25-18, 20-25, 25-14), but the Marauders finished strong by sweeping Alderson-Broaddus (25-19, 25-19, 25-15) in their second match of the day.

The Marauders were led at the net by Erin Harman who totaled 24 kills on the day. Setting Harman and the rest of Millersville on Saturday was Grace Dawson with 52 assists. The career leader in digs at Millersville, Brooklyn Smith, had 52 digs on the day bringing her season total to 315.

Millersville returns home Tuesday to take on Shippensburg at 7 p.m.

Lock Haven 3, Millersville 1
Harman dominated the first match against Lock Haven, recording a season-high 18 kills while adding two assists and one block assist. Harman has now recorded double-digit kills in all but two matches this season. Kelsi Ceriana was a big factor in the match as well registering 10 kills to go with one solo block and one block assist.

Brooklyn Smith recorded 31 digs and three assists in the match. Smith tallied a season-high 32 digs earlier in the year against Philadelphia. Freshman Grace Dawson remained steady, setting up the Marauders 30 times in the match. It was her ninth match of 30 plus assists this season. After dropping the first two sets, Millersville battled back to take the third game before the Bald Eagles finished off the Marauders in the fourth and final set. The Bald Eagles were led at the net by the trio of Sarah Gomish, Megan Flick, and Brittany Moyer who all recorded double-digit kills in the Lock Haven victory.

Millersville 3, Alderson-Broaddus 0
In Millersville's second match of the day, a non-conference, neutral site match, Dawson recorded 22 assists and Smith added 21 digs in the three-set sweep. Smith has recorded 20 or more digs in eight matches this season while the freshman Dawson has tallied an impressive 484 assists. Emily Kaledas and Harman each tallied six kills while Ceriana sent home three and added four block assists against the Battlers. Alderson-Broaddus' Elise Wolfe and Lauren Daudelin each recorded five kills in the match.

The first two sets were close as the Marauders edged out Alderson-Broaddus 25-19 before dominating the third and final set of the match 25-15. The Battlers were led in digs by Lauren Hogan (19) and Lauren Rogers set up her teammates 12 times in the loss to Millersville.
