Ville Explodes for Most Goals in Program History in Rout of Lincoln

Lincoln, Pa. – The Millersville women's soccer team earned its largest margin of victory in program history with a 12-0 victory over Lincoln University on Sunday afternoon. Eight different Marauders were able to net a goal in the rout over the Lions as Halie Parker led the squad with four goals, which marks the most in club history. The previous best mark was three goals that were held by seven different Marauders.

The 12-0 non-conference victory improves Millersville to 5-9 overall. Incredibly enough, the Black & Gold dominated in the shot department as they fired 50 shots compared to the Lions five. Lincoln (2-10) goalkeeper Kaylee Dennis was able to record 21 saves in the blowout loss.

Millersville opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Halie Parker finished off a Victoria Kramer through ball. Four minute later, Parker netted another goal sliding the ball past Lincoln keeper Kaylee Dennis.

The Marauders added their final goal of the first period in the 42nd minute. Madison Kieffer delivered a pass to Megan Newmister within the 18-yard box that gave Newmister all the space she needed to fire the shot into the back of the net. Millersville carried its 3-0 lead into the halftime break.

Victoria Kramer joined the scoring party in the 60th minute as she scored her sixth goal of the season. Kramer has scored in two-straight matches as she netted a goal in the 2-1 loss to IUP on Saturday.

Less than a minute later, Halie Parker would go on to net her third and fourth goals of the match. The junior forward has scored 12 goals on the season which marks a team-high and is the second best mark in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. Parker finished the match with nine points as the outstanding effort also breaks a program record that was previously held by Karen Parker.

Millersville would go on to score six more goals to close out the match. Goals were scored by Stacie Hallinan, Alexandrea Powell, Meagan Newmister, Elizabeth Waite, Madison Kieffer and Hannah Willett. Ville goalkeeper Samantha Wolfe earned the victory in net as she recorded one save.

The Marauders will look to carry the scoring momentum back into conference play as they have three PSAC matches to make one final run at securing a post season PSAC Tournament berth. Coach Matt Procopio's squad returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 24 as they host the Seton Hill Griffins at Pucillo Field. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m.
