Millersville, Pa. - The Millersville women's tennis team was defeated 5-4 on Monday in a match against Holy Family. This loss puts the Marauders at 0-4 for the season with Holy Family improving to 4-7 overall.
The Maraduers walked away victorious in half of the singles competitions for the day.
Heather Grove,
Kaylora Thompson and
Kimberly Theophile all defeated their opponents. Grove won her third singles match in a row. Thompson's match was the only one to extend beyond straight sets as a first set tiebreaker was needed. The match ended with a score of 7-6 (9-7), 6-2.
The duo of
Kaylora Thompson and
Samantha Brzenk were the lone doubles match to end in a point for Millersville. The No. 3 team, Thompson and Brzenk defeated Holy Family's Katie Kenney and Alexis Daubert with sweeping score of 8-0.
Millersville is finished for the fall season and will resume in the spring with a match against Delaware Valley at home on March 4.
