MATCH OVERVIEW
• Millersville hosts No. 18-ranked Pitt-Johnstown and first-year program LIU Post on Saturday for a tri-meet. The Marauders are coming off of a 33-9 loss to LIU Post in which it received decisions from Nico Demetrio, Ian Shannon and David Wuestner--all true freshmen.
• Pitt-Johnstown, at 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the PSAC, presents a significant challenge. 141-pound Sam Hanau and 165-pound Tyler Reinhart are both ranked nationally. The only dual loss of the season came against No. 13-ranked Kutztown. The Mountain Cats, led by legendary head coach Pat Pecora, are ranked fourth in the Super Region 1 rankings with five wrestlers ranked in the Super Region 1 top six. In addition to Hanau (No. 2) and Reinhart (No. 2), Evan Link, John Blankenshipand Cole Landowski are all ranked third.
• Millersville's star freshman Ian Shannon, who just became the first Marauder with 20 wins in a season since 2011, previously faced Reinhart at the PSAC Championships. Reinhart ended Shannon's tournament in a close 2-0 decision. The 184-pound match-up of Kyle Narber and Adam Nickelson was also seen at the PSAC Championships. Nickelson won by a 13-2 major decision. 125-pound Austin Camacci has faced a tough schedule so far. With Link as his opponent on Saturday, Camacci will have already faced each of the top three wrestlers in Super Region 1.
• Last season, UPJ rolled to a 40-4 win. Millersville's one win came from David Charles at 141, but Camacci is the only returning starter for Millersville. UPJ also has six different starters in the lineup this time around.
• LIU Post resurrected its program after it was shut down following the 1987-88 season. Joe Patrovich was an extremely successful high school coach and was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2012 and the New York State Wrestling Hall of Fame.
