GAME OVERVIEW•    The 2014 Millersville fall sports season kicks off with today's women's soccer game against Slippery Rock. After years of sharing Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium both the men's and women's soccer teams at Millersville will have their own competition soccer stadium. The turf project began in April and was completed in time for preseason workouts. Pucillo Field was a $2.5 million project, which includes state of the art turf, a 700-seat grandstand, and a press box for game day operations.
•    The Marauders are looking to build off last season's effort as they finished with an overall record of 8-9-1 while sporting a 7-8-1 PSAC record. It was the programs best record since 2004 and the first time in 11 years it appeared in a national ranking after they got off to a 4-0 undefeated start. After scoring a goal in each of the first two games of the year senior
Kristin Lepley went down with a season ending injury. But healthy once again Lepley's goal scoring prowess will be featured alongside last season's top scorer junior
Megan Kelley on attack.
•    Slippery Rock enters the season as the defending Atlantic Region champions after defeating California (Pa.) 3-0 in the regional final of the NCAA tournament last fall.  The Rock finished the 2013 season with a 15-4-2 overall record, and will begin the 2014 season as the No. 7 team in the Division II national rankings while also being the favorite to finish first in the PSAC.
ABOUT THE SERIES•    Millersville and Livingstone are playing for the 20th time. It is also the first time Millersville will be playing in it's brand new turf facility Pucillo Field. Millersville has posted a 3-19 record in games versus Slippery Rock and lost 0-2 in the 2013.
SCOUTING THE ROCK•     Head coach
Noreen Herlihy enters her 20th season at the helm of the program this fall. She enters the year with an overall record of 239-107-29 (.676 winning percentage), needing 11 wins to become only the 11th coach in NCAA women's soccer history to join the 250-win club at the Division II level.

SCOUTING THE SCHEDULE•    Based on 2013 results, Millersville's schedule looks to be just as favorable as it was to begin the 2013 season. Other than the open match versus Slippery Rock, the Marauders will be playing the exact same opponents in which they started off with in 2013. As many of you may remember Millersville go off to a 5-0-1 start and sat nationally ranked for the first time in 11 years at No.14.
•    In the PSAC preseason poll and the Marauders were picked to finish in the No. 10 spot.
