GAME NOTES
·
Millersville led West Chester at the half and stood tied with over 14 minutes left, but could not slow the Golden Ram offense down the stretch and dropped an 86-74 game to fall below .500 at 9-10. The Marauders were 6-0 when leading at the half before that loss. The loss also dropped Millersville to 1-9 on the road. Getting back to .500 will be no easy task as the Marauders face an East Stroudsburg team coming off its first loss of the season. The Marauders have not won in Kohler Fieldhouse since 2009, and the last three losses ave come by double-digits.  ESU blitzed the Marauders for 96 points in the first meeting this season, and that point total was the highest by an opponent in Pucillo Gymnasium since 2001. In 2012-13, Millersville held ESU under 70 points twice, but ESU has scored at least 76 points in four of the last six meetings. Millersville has also shot better than .400 percent in just three of 10 road games this season.

· Through the first 15 games, Tyree Smith scored as many as 23 points but as a few as two. He seems to be finding some scoring consistency as he has hit for double-figures in four consecutive games, including a career-high 24 against West Chester. The junior is emerging as one of the best marksmen in the PSA. He's hit 8-of-12 3-pointers in the last two games and is 15 for his last 25. He has made four 3-pointers four times this season and is shooting a remarkable 49.2 percent from behind the arc. He is also sinking 75 percent of his free throws, including 51-of-61 (.836) since Dec. 18.

· Kelvin Parker is quickly becoming one of the top scorers in the PSAC. Through seven games as a Marauder, Parker has scored at least 20 points four times, including three in a row. Parker has averaged 22.3 points while shooting 53.5 percent from the field and 12-of-24 from three over the last three games. The last Marauder to score 20-plus points in three consecutive games was Reggie Bates in 2007-08. The last Marauder to score 20-plus points in four consecutive games was Millersville Hall of Fame member Greg Testa in February of 2006.

· Millersville is 5-1 when scoring more than 80 points, but success is all about defensive performance. The Marauders are 1-5 when allowing more than 80 points, 2-8 when shooting a lower percentage than their opponent and 0-4 when allowing the opponent to shoot 50 percent from the field.

· Senior Anthony Coleman missed the loss against West Chester, bringing his total of missed games to five this season. The team is 1-4 without Coleman and 9-6 with him in the lineup. When Coleman is available, the Marauders' field goal percentage defense improves from .442 to .407 and the steals per game jumps from 7.0 to 10.0.  Not surprisingly, among players with at least 150 minutes played, Coleman ranks fourth on the team in plus/minutes per game at 2.38.

ABOUT EAST STROUDSBURG
· East Stroudsburg was the only unbeaten team left in Division II until Thursday night when Lock Haven upset the third-ranked Warriors  82-80 on a hoop from Wali Hepburn with 10 seconds left. The 20-game winning streak was a school record and the longest streak by a PSAC school since IUP in 1994-95. The Warriors are still running away with the PSAC East, having won 17 of 20 games by double-figures. ESU boasts the No. 1 scoring offense (87.2), and ranks second in the league in scoring margin (19.0), field goal percentage (.469), 3-pointers made (8.9), 3-point field goal defense (.291). The Warriors also lead the PSAC in turnover margin at 8.38. The No. 2 team--Mercyhurst--holds just a 1.80 margin. ESU's 1.41 assist/turnover ratio, 11.05 steals per game and 17.5 assists per game also lead the league.
