Philadelphia, Pa. - The Millersville men's tennis team opened its 2014 spring campaign with an 8-1 loss at Philadelphia University Saturday afternoon.
The Marauders were shorthanded, playing without No. 1 Jody Sambrick. The lineup switch certainly had an effect as Philadelphia (3-3) won all three doubles matches and the top five singles matches. Millersville fell to 1-3 with the loss.
Sophomore
Niko Mucci, playing at No. 6 singles, picked up Millersville's lone point. He defeated Matthew Germani in a three-set thriller, 6-1, 3-6, 10-6.
The Marauders break until March 17 when they embark on their annual spring break trip to Hilton Head. The team will play four matches in five days.
