GAME NOTES
· Millersville hosts Mansfield for a near must-win game for both teams. Millersville's back-to-back losses have dropped the Marauders into a tie for the No. 5 seed in the PSAC East, and they now trail No. 4 Lock Haven by two games. Mansfield lurks just one game out of the playoff picture, and if the Mountaineers can top the Marauders Wednesday, Mansfield will own the head-to-head tiebreaker. Millersville's two losses last week both came on the road, dropping the team to 1-10 away from Pucillo. The good news for the Marauders is that three of the final five games are at home and the two road games are against Shippensburg and Kutztown, which have a combined nine wins. Millersville is an impressive 8-1 at home this season and have scored 80 or more points in four of the last five home games. Millersville is shooting 39.6 percent from three and averaging 81.3 points per game at home while it is shooting 31.2 percent from three and averaging just 70.8 points per game on the road.

· There's something about Mansfield. At least it has been that way lately for the Marauders. While Millersville holds a convincing 80-58 lead in the all-time series, and while Fred Thompson started 14-7 against Mansfield, the tables have turned in the last six seasons. Mansfield has won 10 of the last 11 meetings dating back to 2008-09. Millersville's lone win in that stretch came last season at home.

· Tyree Smith averaged 19.5 points per game last week in games against West Chester and East Stroudsburg. His 24 points against East Stroudsburg were a career high. The junior has scored in double figures in five consecutive games and has shot 57.8 percent from three over his last four games. Among players with 15 games played, Smith leads with 10.9 points per game, 1.5 assists per game and ranks second in rebounding. His accuracy from three has been outstanding. He has hit 48.5 percent of his attempts and made at least two threes in nine games.

· For Millersville to win, it is imperative that it generates turnovers. Millersville is 7-4 overall and 3-1 against PSAC East teams when creating more points off of turnovers than its opponent. Millersville is 5-02 when generating at least 11 steals.

· Rebounding is also important to Millersvlle's success. Millersville is 6-2 when grabbing at least 26 defensive rebounds and 5-2 overall an 3-1 against the PSAC East when out-rebounding the opponent. In the five games since losing leading rebounder Xavier Mumford, the Marauders are being out-rebounding by 4.2 rebounds per game (35.2 per game). With Mumford, the Marauders were out-rebounded by 3.1 per game, but averaged 12.7 offensive boards per game. Without Mumford, the Marauders are averaging 10.8 offensive boards per game.

ABOUT MANSFIELD
·
Mansfield had a rocky start to the season but since beating Millersville 88-87 on Jan. 11, the Mountaineers have are 4-4 and is currently on a two-game winning streak. It is the first time this season that the Mountaineers have won back-to-back games. The last two wins have came by a total of five points, and each of Mansfield's four wins in the last eight games have come by single digits. Since scoring a career-high 41 points against the Marauders on Jan. 11, Joe Bell has been a roll, scoring 20 or more points in 10 of the last 14 games. Bell is averaging over 26 points per game in five career games against the Marauders. He is currently tied for the PSAC lead in scoring average at 21.5 points per game, and he also ranks 10th in rebounding. Mansfield's struggles are mostly due to its defense, which ranks 18th in the PSAC in scoring defense at 81.1 points per game.
