Game Overview
  • The Millersville women's soccer team looks to score a victory Wednesday evening when it takes on PSAC foe Shippensburg under the lights on Pucillo Field. Most recently the Marauders came out firing shots from all over the field, and it was a successful tactic as they beat Mercyhurst, 1-0. Alexandrea Powell was credited with the game winning tally, as it also marked the first goal of the season for the sophomore midfielder.

Series History
  • The first meeting between Millersville and Shippensburg ended with a 1-0 victory for the Marauders in 1994. Since then, the series has been a highly competitive with each squad trading victories back and forth. Millersville currently leads the series with 11 victories to the Raiders 10.

The Last Meeting
  • In the last meeting Millersville was just 13.9 seconds away from tying Shippensburg 0-0 in the second overtime period. But in the 110th minute the Raiders Kate Zech knocked in the golden goal to lift Shippensburg to a 1-0 victory.

Parker Coming Alive
  • Halie Parker had a very encouraging freshman campaign a year ago, when she appeared in all 18 games while making her presence felt in most. She ended 2013 fourth on the team in points (5) and third in goals (2). Parker has really taken her game to the next level so far this season. At the midway point, she already has four goals and nine points which are both team highs. For the Marauders to have continued success, it's imperative for Parker to continue flashing her outstanding form.

Scouting Shippensburg
  • The Raiders have taken five of their nine opponents to overtime with three of the matches resulting in ties, and the other two games split with a victory and a loss. They have received outstanding play in net from true freshman Kayla Kennedy. So far, Kennedy has been very stingy as she sports an impressive 0.46 goals against average, and is currently tied for first in the PSAC in shutouts (4).
