Mercyhurst Scores Three in Second Half to Defeat Millersville

Erie, Pa. - Mercyhurst used three second half goals to hand the No. 9 Millersville women's soccer team a 3-1 defeat and its second consecutive loss.

After a program best 5-0-1 start, the Marauders (5-2-1) has dropped its last two. Mercyhurst is now over .500 (4-3-1) with the 3-1 decision.

Victoria Kramer broke a scoreless tie in the 42nd minute, notching her second goal of the season. Megan Kelley provided the assist.

The 1-0 lead held until the 56th minute when Carly Zimmerman tied the match. The Lakers scored two goals that were just five seconds apart to take a commanding 3-1 advantage. Mercyhurst kept Millersville off the board for its second win in the last three contests.

Mercyhurst totaled 13 shots, and Millersville keeper Olivia Webber tallied four saves.

The calendar flips to October before the Marauders return to action. Their Oct. 2 matchup at Shippensburg is set to kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
